This position is responsible for the operations of the Business Office.
Minimum education and/or experience:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate, and at least one (1) year of general clerical experience.
Preferred education and/or experience:
Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledgeable about breed identification; Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills; Knowledgeable in telephone, office and on-line etiquette; Knowledgeable of County customer service objectives and strategies; Knowledgeable of the rules and regulations governing the impounding, release, quarantine, and euthanasia of animals; Basic math skills; Keyboarding skills; Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions; Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of individuals representing diverse cultures and backgrounds and function calmly in situations that require a high degree of sensitivity, tact, and diplomacy; Ability to maintain reports, records, logs, and files; Ability to enter data into a computer system; Ability to provide counseling to potential adopters to assist them in selecting animals.
Specialized training, certifications, or other special requirements:
A valid Arizona driver's license is required.
NOTE: Degrees/credits must be from an academically accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education (CHEA).
Essential Job Tasks:
Release impounded animals to owners. Answer inquires about lost or found pets. Review adoption questionnaires with potential adopters. Sell license tags to the public. Update computer files when receiving, adopting, returning, transferring or euthanizing animals and keep simple records. Provide courteous, high quality service to members of the public by responding to requests for service. Run daily reports including but not limited to cash balancing, jurisdictions, kennel verification, kennel inventory, field and owner intakes, adoptions, due outs, fees by type, hold and notify, missing animals and other auditing reports. Conduct financial transactions by collecting fees from customers and balancing cash drawer on a daily basis.

The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a pool provided by the Human Resources Department.
