The Office of Admission is seeking an Admission Counselor or Assistant Director of Admission to assist in achieving the recruitment goals of the College. Responsibilities include:
Recruiting students in an effort to achieve overall recruitment goals
Representing Coe College at public events such as high school visits and college fairs
Reviewing first-year student applications
Conducting interviews with prospective first-year students and their family
Communicating the qualities of a Coe education to key stakeholders such as parents and guidance counselors, in addition to students
Prioritizing multiple projects in addition to direct recruitment activities
Several weeks of travel in the fall and spring
Weekend and evening commitments
Extensive follow-up contact with prospective students
A consistent dedication to respond to the needs of students, parents and guidance counselors in a timely manner

Residence Life Area Coordinator
General Qualifications -- Master's degree in student personnel, counseling or related field preferred; Bachelors degree required; college or university residence hall leadership experiences; experience at a residential, liberal arts college desirable; proficiency in written and oral communication; and strong management/organizational skills.
Primary Responsibility -- Supervising one residence life area consisting of 2-6 buildings.
Staff Training and Supervision
Responsible for the supervision of 16-19 Resident Assistants (RA) and two Assistant Residence Directors (ARD).
Share responsibility for the recruitment, selection, training and evaluation of the residence hall staff.
Develop and implement year long and on-going training for RA staff.
Responsible for preparation of a RA duty schedule for the staff on duty in the residence hall.
Hold weekly meetings with entire student staff and bi-weekly one-on-ones with individual staff members.
Counseling and Advising
Assume an active role in implementing programs designed to facilitate personal growth of students.
Mentor and serve as a resource to residence hall students.
Serve as a judicial hearing officer and encourage responsible student behavior.
Advise residence hall Board of Directors and National Residence Hall Honorary with potential to advise other student groups on campus.
Programming and Educational Development
Oversee the Residence Life First Year Experience program.
Advise an RA committee to further the goals of Residence Life.
Work as member of the Division of Student Affairs team to implement intentional campus wide programs.
Administration
Responsible for the opening/closing of the residence halls at the beginning/end of the year and during vacation periods.
Maintain adequate records of room assignments, room changes, occupancy, and key inventory.
Regularly survey the residence hall to report maintenance and damage concerns to Physical Plant.
Assist in the evaluation of the quality of life, assessing student needs, and making recommendations based on that assessment.
Share responsibility for room selection, placement, and break housing transitions for the Office of Residence Life.
General Duties
Responsible for attending weekly administrative meetings.
Responsible for duty rotation with other professional staff.
Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with custodial, maintenance, and other college staff.
Responsible for other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean of Students.
Compensation
12 month contract, competitive salary and benefits, reserved parking space, furnished apartment, domestic partner/spouse policy, small pets negotiable, meal plan, retirement program, and tuition benefits available.
The anticipated start date is July 1st, 2012 (negotiable).
