Job Title: Academic Advisor Closing Date/Time: Continuous Salary: $16.41 - $23.74 Hourly $1,317.85 - $1,906.50 Biweekly Job Type: Unlimited Full-Time Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC) is a public two-year college located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis. MCTC enrolls over 14,500 credit students annually and is an active partner in initiatives designed to strengthen the social, economic and cultural vitality of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Created in 1996, under the umbrella of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) system, MCTC is the result of the merger of two institutions: a technical college with a long history of vocational education dating back to 1914 and an open-enrollment community college established in 1965. Examples of Duties: Work collaboratively with your Academy team, consisting of advisors, faculty, the Dean, and the Director of Advising to provide high quality academic advising services to MCTC students enrolled in academic programs that fall under the Academy to which you are assigned. Utilizing an intrusive and progressive advising model, provide consistent, timely, accurate information to student regarding college curricular and policy requirements relative to academic program planning. Assist students to develop and successfully complete their career and educational goals, effectively use the College resources available to them, and use and interpret college information. Qualifications: Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree Excellent oral and written communications as demonstrated in your resume and during the interview process. Experience with computer software. Experience working effectively with diverse student populations. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree A high level of human relations and organizational skills.
