The primary purpose of this position is to provide general office clerical support and coverage.
Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include:
- Performing a variety of office clerical work in combination with using electronic spreadsheet, word processing, database management, electronic mail, electronic calendar, and other types of office automation software.
- Creating, copying, editing (inserting, deleting, moving text), storing, retrieving and printing, entering data into a predefined spreadsheet or database.
- Preparing reports using standard fiscal methods, means, and formulas to resolve and correct data anomalies due to source, collection, or processing variances.
- Receiving, routing and distributing mail to appropriate individuals, maintaining office files in subject and chronological order.

GS-5: Applicants must possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least a GS-4 in the federal service OR 4 years of education above high school OR a qualifying combination of both experience and education. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Specialized experience includes supporting an office by performing clerical or administrative duties such as typing correspondence, answering telephone inquiries, and maintaining a filing system.
Note: One year of education above high school is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.
This position does not have a positive education requirement.

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:

2. Ability to read and interpret general procedural guidelines.
3. Knowledge of proper English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

3. Qualified: Applicants possessing the basic qualifications, with general knowledge, skills, and abilities.
