Position Duties: Under the direction of the Site Supervisor and/or Department Director, the Patient Representative performs a variety of secretarial, billing and clerical duties. Responsibilities include: utilizing the electronic medical record (EMR) to schedule initial evaluations and follow up appointments and process patient charges; coordinating referrals; preparing the proper paperwork and collecting pertinent patient information; answering phones; performing other related duties as assigned. The Patient Representative provides support to the clinical staff to provide optimum service to patients. Educational Requirements: HS Diploma or GED. Minimum Requirements: Basic math and computer operating skills. Proficiency in Windows based computer programs. Exemplary organizational and customer service skills. Excellent written and verbal skills. Requires effective organizational and interpersonal skills needed for anticipating and reacting to various needs of both patients and medical personnel in a fast paced diversified working environment. Ability to multi-task and address multiple priorities simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications: Past experience working in medical office preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and outpatient third party reimbursement preferred. Hours: 40 hours; Mon.-Fri.; flexible start time btw. 8:30am-10:30am and end time btw. 4:30pm-7:00pm.
